Agent Omer’s Log S1/E5
Subject: Fire & Lies…& More Lies
Dear Head of Operations,
The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. were betrayed this week.
Betrayal is not a fun feeling, ma’am. Not at all…
While Skye and Agent Ward were playing Battleship, I was taking a nap not too far from where they were. I was then awoken by a chuckle. Agent Ward’s chuckle. It wasn’t a particularly loud chuckle but the fact that it was his (along with a smile) seemed to have dragged me out of my sleep in disbelief and then I was annoyed that my dream about Captain America was interrupted. The plane then started to beep which meant we had a mission: Chen Ho Yin. A street performer who has moderate pyrokinesis and is on the S.H.I.E.L.D. index: a list of super powered people and things. A list that I personally haven’t seen…and would like to see. One day *wink wink*. In short: Chen Ho Yin was taken from his home by professionals who knew who he was and what he can do all because the index was hacked by the Rising Tide.
This made us all look at Skye, who claimed she had nothing to do with this and suggested finding the person responsible. I personally believed her and so did the rest of us. So we flew to Texas to find us the well known hacker, Miles Lydon, and who we lost (more like Agent Coulson and Agent Ward lost) during a foot and car chase. Luckily for us, Agent Coulson has pretty good gut feelings and told Agent May to follow Skye. She followed her to a place that turned out to be where Miles Lydon lived. Skye had tipped him off (and they also had sexy times before Agent May had let them know she was there…which was weird). Despite being told by Coulson that I have “a way with stringing words together that make the otherwise mundane and boring report into an Agatha Christie type read”, I find myself unable to put my betrayal into words. So instead, I give you with a gif:
Skye gave her reasons but, by this point, we’re all a bit wounded. I think I saw Agent Ward shed a manly tear. We took both Skye and Miles in cuffs onto the plane, where Ward questioned Miles. Apparently, he sold information to a woman in a flower dress who worked for an eco-research lab that studies insects. More specifically, centipedes (see: Log S1/E1). First Los Angeles and now Hong Kong, who are these shadowy people? Simmons tells us that the reason they want Chen is because his genetics can stabilize the extremis (less blowing up) in order to make super soldiers.
So Agent Coulson, Agent May, Skye and Agent Ward went in to get Chen out. Unfortunately, he had gone cuckoo, killed Agent Kwan and burned one of the scientists alive. That doesn’t exactly scream, “I need to be rescued,” so Agent May injected him with extremis which caused him to blow up. The woman in the flower dress was nowhere to be found and Chen’s blood platelets were also gone. I’m sensing a pattern here.
So we sent Miles away with a new bracelet where we know his every key stroke and any unlawful activity will make him a pariah with technology for a while.
And the Skye thing. She finally came clean on the one secret she had left: why she was on the plane. Looks like she was looking for her parents since the only trace of them was in a file redacted by S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Coulson offered Skye his help along with a matching bracelet that he had given to Miles.
Not sure if the team will be the same ma’am but I know one thing…
…if we had a S.H.I.E.L.D. monkey, Skye would have opened up a lot more and morale wouldn’t be at a all time low.
